Khatri IP Attorneys is a Karachi-based law firm built around one simple idea: the people who build a brand should be the ones who legally own it. We work with founders, creators, and business owners across Pakistan who want their name, logo, or original work protected properly — not left exposed because the paperwork felt confusing or the process seemed like it could wait.
We are not a large corporate firm handling IP as a side practice. Brand and intellectual property protection is the only thing we do, which means every file that comes through our office gets full attention instead of being squeezed between unrelated legal matters.
Khatri IP Attorneys was started after seeing the same pattern repeat itself too often: a business builds a name for years, gains a loyal customer base, and only then discovers that someone else has already filed a similar mark — or that a rushed, incomplete application from years earlier is now blocking their own registration. That gap between building a brand and legally securing it is where most of the damage happens, and it’s usually avoidable with the right guidance at the start.
The firm was built to close that gap — helping clients get their filings right the first time, rather than fixing costly mistakes after the fact.
The firm is led by Muhammad Huzaifa, founding IP attorney, whose practice is focused specifically on brand protection matters in Pakistan. He works directly with clients rather than passing files between departments, which means the person advising you at the start is generally the same person tracking your application through to the end. His professional background and current work can be viewed on LinkedIn.
A lot of legal firms are hard to reach once a file is submitted. We’ve tried to build the opposite habit. Clients get updates by phone, email, or WhatsApp without having to chase anyone for a status check, and every cost is discussed upfront — before a rupee changes hands, not buried in fine print afterward.
We also try to keep explanations in plain language. Most people coming to us aren’t familiar with classification systems, opposition timelines, or government forms, and they shouldn’t need to be. Our job is to translate the legal side into decisions a business owner can actually make — starting with choosing the right way to file a brand name to avoid disputes later.
Our office is in Malir Colony, Karachi, but our work isn’t limited to walk-in clients. We regularly handle matters remotely for business owners in Lahore, Islamabad, and smaller cities, as well as overseas Pakistanis and foreign applicants who need a local representative to file on their behalf. Distance from our office has never been a reason someone couldn’t get proper representation.
Because our work touches both intellectual property and, where relevant, the early legal steps of starting a business — including guiding new founders through getting a business formally registered — we’re often able to flag brand-related risks that founders wouldn’t otherwise think about until it’s too late.
We’d rather tell a client honestly that something will take longer than expected, or that a name they’ve picked is likely to run into objections, than say what’s easiest to hear in the moment. Long-term client relationships are built on that kind of honesty, not on overpromising at the first meeting.
We also believe protection shouldn’t stop at a certificate. A registered mark or a documented copyright only holds value if someone is actually watching for misuse and responding when it happens — which is why our involvement with clients doesn’t end the day a registration comes through.
If you’re building something worth protecting — a name, a logo, or original creative work — we’re happy to walk you through your options in a free initial consultation, with no pressure and no jargon.
